Younes Baba-Ali was born in 1986. He graduated from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg and from the AIX-en-Provence Art School. Today he lives and works in Brussels and Casablanca. At the Biennale he presented the sound installations “Horn Orchestra” and “Call for Prayer – Morse”. For the art pieces he won the “Léopold Sédar SENGHOR” Great prize – offered by the President of the Republic at the Biennale.
The installation “Horn Orchestra” consists of 10 car horns suspended in an enclosed space accessible by the public. When the public approaches the horns an enormous sound is produced.
